MCERF: Education - Internship Grants

MCERF Students who work for a mechanical, plumbing, or service contractor or for an equipment manufacturer or supplier as an intern will enhance their education, professional experience, and interest in the mechanical contracting industry. MCAA's Career Development Committee annually provides a limited number of student internship grants. This is done to encourage association members to offer internship opportunities to qualified college students considering careers in the mechanical contracting industry. The grant amount helps the grantee cover a portion of the intern's salary. Applying companies are limited to one grant per year and are eligible for grants for three consecutive years.

Information requested in the grant application includes:
  • Applicant's name, contact person, address, telephone/fax numbers, e-mail address
  • Intern's name, address, telephone/fax numbers, e-mail address
  • MCAA student chapter name (if applicable)
  • Supervisor name
  • Location of internship (i.e., company branch) if applicable
  • Term of internship
  • Salary (per hour amount)
  • Brief description of the intern's responsibilities (>50 words)
The Career Development Committee reviews the internship grant applications and makes awards based on the best potential educational experience for the student. The committee notifies awarded applicants by mid-June and allocates the funds by mid-August of each year.
