If you have recently hired project managers, estimators or other new professionals, make sure the Online Piping Usage & Specification (OPUS) is included in their orientation and training regimen. TheMechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) developed OPUS in conjunction with members of MCAA's Manufacturer/Supplier Council (M/SC) and MCAA contractors, as a free, online educational resource to teach students, faculty and less experienced project personnel about the basic materials and their applications in the mechanical construction industry. It's easy to use and provides new hires with excellent information about the products they are specifying and installing in built facilities. If you haven't checked it out recently, please do.  You'll find a number of improvements that make the site a valuable reference source for industry materials and products and their applications.
