Twenty-six faculty members from colleges and universities around the country attended the Mechanical-Electrical Academic Consortium's (MEAC) fourth annual Faculty Training Camp last week on the campus of Auburn University in Auburn, AL. The three-day program, which was designed to provide college instructors of construction management students with the basics in mechanical and electrical systems, was cosponsored by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation and Electri International, The Foundation for Electrical Construction, Inc. The program covered: Mechanical Properties and Air Conditioning Systems and Components taught by Ron Haggin of the University of Nebraska - Omaha; Estimating Mechanical Construction and Planning & Scheduling Mechanical Construction taught by Tim Wentz of the University of Nebraska - Lincoln; Testing & Balancing, Temperature Controls and System Commissioning taught by Rick Blackledge of the Waldinger Corporation (Omaha, NE); Mechanical and Electrical Laboratory Exercises and Electrical Fundamentals taught by Paul Oppenheim of the University of Florida; Electrical Power Distribution and Commercial/Industrial Electrical Systems taught by Russell Walters of the University of Florida; Electrical Lighting Systems taught by Erich Connell of East Carolina University; and Electrical Estimating and Scheduling taught by NECA Estimating Management Consultant Robert Mooty.
