Once again, the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) is making possible grants to MCAA members who hire summer interns. Administered by the MCAA Career Development Committee, the $1,000 Student Internship Grants go directly to MCAA contractors to help them offset the student intern's salary. Students gain valuable, practical work experience while learning about the realities of the mechanical contracting business-office operations, purchasing equipment and supplies, managing a project, estimating a job, and other tasks. Employers also benefit from the student's fresh outlook and knowledge of new skills and technologies. Grants are limited to one per employer and priority is given to contractors who hire members of MCAA student chapters. Requests are due May 15.
