If your company is planning to hire an intern this year, then apply for a 2011 Student Internship Grant. Funded by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation's (MCERF) Funding Educational Excellence (FEE) initiative, the grants are designed to encourage MCAA members to hire students as a way of teaching them about our industry. MCAA's Career Development Committee administers the grants. The students must be full-time college students, preferably majoring in a discipline related to mechanical contracting, mechanical service or plumbing. Members of MCAA's Manufacturer/Supplier Council are also eligible for a grant. Priority will be given to MCAA members that hire students who are members of an MCAA student chapter. Each grant is $1,200 and the committee will award one grant per qualified MCAA member. Requests for 2011 Student Internship Grants are due to MCAA by May 16, 2011.
