If your company is planning to hire an intern to help out in the office and/or on projects, consider applying for a Student Internship Grant. Made possible with support from the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation, the grant helps MCAA members who hire interns cover their salary. Most important, however, the benefit encourages member companies to bring in future professionals for a few weeks of on-the-job training and experience working on projects and meeting the challenges of running a contracting business. The students gain valuable experience, but their employers also may gain new ideas, techniques and technologies that may help them with office and project operations. Grant requests are due May 15.
