The Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF) is shining its spotlight on the Online Piping Usage & Specification (OPUS). MCERF, working in conjunction with members of MCAA's Manufacturer/Supplier Council (M/SC) and MCAA contractors, has developed this free, online educational resource to teach students, faculty and less experienced project personnel about the basic materials and their applications in the mechanical construction industry. A number of contractors already have their younger estimators and project staff using OPUS to help them learn more about the products they are specifying and installing in built facilities. We urge MCAA members and employees to use OPUS at http://www.opuspiping.org and provide feedback to help us improve the site.
