MCAA's Career Development Committee, which administers the MCAA Student Chapter program, has announced that grants are available to eligible MCAA student chapters and to MCAA contractor members who hire interns. The grants are funded by the Mechanical Contracting Education & Research Foundation (MCERF). Chapter faculty advisors may apply for either a Chapter of Excellence Grant ($3,000) or an Emerging Chapter Grant ($3,000). Fifty percent of the funds received for either grant are to be allocated to scholarships for deserving chapter members. The deadline for chapter grant proposals is April 15. Also available are grants ($2,000 each) for companies that hire qualified students as summer interns. Priority will be given to companies that hire members of MCAA's student chapters. Only one grant will be awarded to a company. The deadline for Student Internship Grants is May 15. Criteria for all grants are posted at www.mcaa.org/careers.
