MCERF: About Us

MCERF was founded in 1989 by members of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America (MCAA) as a means to provide needed education and research programs or products that the association either could not or should not undertake.

Mission

The Mechanical Contracting Education and Research Foundation (MCERF) articulates and funds the mechanical contracting industry's most critical human resource and research needs. MCERF cultivates and supports activities that allow professionals in the mechanical contracting industry to succeed in their businesses.

MCERF is accomplishing its mission through:

building strong working relationships with many industry practitioners, academics, manufacturer/supplier representatives, and industry consultants;
responsible management of the financial resources generously given by its many donors.

Method

The strong and varied industry relationships, those from academia and from the manufacturer/suppliers provide MCERF with a strong information gathering/sharing base. Our partners guide and enlighten us as to the most pressing education and research issues facing our industry.

Finally, a history of responsible stewardship of the financial resources entrusted to us is one of MCERF's proudest accomplishments. From an initial endowment of just over a million dollars, the Foundation now oversees the investment of a $10+ million endowment, which funds education, research, and administrative costs from the revenues it generates.
